St Anthony Parish at 20 Kirkbride Road, Mangere Bridge, Auckland. 2022, New Zealand is one of some 64 Parishes ranging from the top of the North Island to the Coromandel Region that fall under the Catholic Diocese of Auckland – Te Taumata O Te Hahi Katorika.  A parish is a local Church community, which gathers together for regular worship.

The following terms and conditions in using this website means that you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not accept these terms and conditions, you must refrain from using the website.  Please note that these terms and conditions may be modified from time to time and you should regularly review them.

1. Payment Services Overview

St Anthony Parish third party providers provides you Payment Services directly or through various Financial Services Providers. Payment Services allow you to accept payment for Transactions. We may limit or refuse to process Charges (as defined below) for any Prohibited Businesses, or for Charges submitted in violation of this Agreement. To use the Payment Services, you must also accept separate agreements with the Financial Services Providers as described in Section 5.

The following terms used in this section relate to your use of Payment Services:

1.1 GLOSSARY OF TERMS

1. “Charge” means a credit or debit instruction to capture funds from an account that a Customer maintains with a bank or other financial institution in connection with a Transaction.
2. “Dispute” means an instruction initiated by a Customer with a Financial Services Provider or us to return funds for an existing Charge (including a chargeback on a payment card network; or disputes on a debit network).
3. “Fine” means any fines, levies, or other charges imposed by us or a Financial Services Provider caused by your violation of Laws or this Agreement, or as permitted by Network Rules.
4. “Network Rules” means the guidelines, bylaws, rules, and regulations imposed by the Financial Services Providers and payment method providers that operate payment methods and networks supported by Third Party Provider (including the payment card network operating rules for Visa, MasterCard, or the American Express networks).
5. “Refund” means an instruction initiated by you to return funds to a Customer for an existing Charge.
6. “Return” means an instruction initiated by you, a Customer, or a Financial Services Provider to return funds unrelated to an existing Charge.
7. “Reversal” means an instruction initiated by a Financial Services Provider or us to return funds for an existing Charge. Reversals may result from (i) invalidation of a charge by a Financial Services Provider; (ii) funds settled to you in error or without authorization; and (iii) submission of a Charge in violation of Network Rules, or where submission of the Charge or your use of Payment Services violates this Agreement.
8. “Transfer” means an instruction to credit funds to or debit funds from an account you designate with a Financial Services Provider.
9. “Third Party Providers” means a group of banks, merchants that have an agreement with St Anthony Parish

1.2 PCI Level 1 Service Provider

Third Party Merchant Provider has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

2. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

2.1       Confidentiality: Third Party Provider/s will only use User Data as permitted by this Agreement, by other agreements between St Anthony Parish and Third Party Provider/s, or as otherwise directed by you. We will protect all Data you receive through the Services, and we will not disclose or distribute any such Data, and we will only use such Data in conjunction with the Services and as permitted by this Agreement or by other agreements between St Anthony Parish and Third Party Provider/s. Neither party may use any Personal Data to market to Customers unless it has received the express consent from a specific Customer to do so. All parties may not disclose Payment Data to others except in connection with processing Transactions requested by Customers and consistent with applicable Laws and Network Rules.

2.2       Privacy: Protection of Personal Data is very important to us. Third Party Provider https://stripe.com/nz/privacy explains how and for what purposes we collect, use, retain, disclose, and safeguard the Personal Data you provide to us. You agree to review the terms of our Privacy Policy, which we update from time to time.

3. REFUNDS

Refunds can be issued and are processed immediately by emailing kareno@cda.org.nz. Once issued, a refund cannot be cancelled.

We can issue more than one refund against a charge, but we cannot refund a total greater than the original charge amount.

If the original charge underwent “currency conversion”, the refunded amount is “converted back” using the same process.

We submit refund requests to your bank or card issuer immediately.

Customer sees the refund as a credit approximately 5-10 business days later, depending upon the bank. Once issued, a refund cannot be cancelled.

Third party merchant will send an email notifying customers of the refund if you have provided us with an email address.

Some refunds—those issued shortly after the original charge—appear in the form of a reversal instead of a refund. In the case of a reversal, the original charge drops off the customer’s statement, and a separate credit is not issued.

3.1 Refund Destinations

Refunds can be sent back only to the original payment method used in a charge. It’s not possible to send a refund to a different destination (e.g., another card or bank account).

Refunds to expired or cancelled cards are handled by the customer’s card issuer and, in most cases, credited to the customer’s replacement card. If no replacement exists, the card issuer usually delivers the refund to the customer using an alternate method (e.g., check or bank account deposit). In rare cases, a refund back to a card may fail.

Refund handling can vary from bank to bank. If a customer has closed their method of payment, the bank may return the refund to us—at which point it is marked as failed.

4. Currency Conversion - Calculating foreign exchange rates

As currency prices constantly vary, it’s not possible to know in advance the FX rate you’ll pay. The rate displayed online at various sites such as Open Exchange Rates is the mid-market rate: the average between the prices at which people are buying and selling the currency. The actual exchange rate includes mark ups from financial institutions. When Stripe performs a currency conversion, funds are usually converted at 2% above the daily mid-market rate for users in New Zealand.

4.1 Converted Back - Conversions on disputes and refunds

If a currency-converted payment is disputed or refunded, the amount you received is converted back to the presentment currency at the current rate. This fluctuates on a daily basis, so the rate used when a charge is converted often differs from the rate used when a dispute or refund occurs. The returned amount can be less—or more—than what the payment provided. Ultimately, a customer is always refunded the exact amount they paid and in the currency they paid in, regardless of the rate and cost to the Stripe user.

For example, if your settlement currency is EUR and you process a $60 USD payment at a rate of €0.88 per $1, the converted amount is €52.80 (excluding the Stripe fee). If the rate is €0.86 per $1 at the time of refund, the amount deducted from your account balance is only €51.60.

5. Disputes and Fraud

In the first instance please email kareno@cda.org.nz if you want to create a formal dispute.

The issuer creates a formal dispute which immediately reverses the payment.

For disputes that are the result of such a misunderstanding, customers can ask their card issuer to withdraw the dispute.

5. Donated Gifts and Grants

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the St Anthony Parish. The St Anthony Parish will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the St Anthony.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.

The St Anthony Parish will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

The St Anthony will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the St Anthony Parish.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for St Anthony.

The St Anthony Parish will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by St Anthony Parish.

The St Anthony will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the St Anthony Parish will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

The St Anthony Parish will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the St Anthony Parish.
